JONATHAN JAMES DAMONTE is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney and sole shareholder of Jonathan James Damonte, Chartered, based in Largo, Florida. As a Florida Bar Board Certified Condominium & Planned Development Lawyer, Jonathan is recognized by the Florida Bar as a specialist in the area of Community Associations law. Board certification is the Florida Bar’s “Legal Expert” status and is the highest level of recognition by the Florida Bar concerning the competency and education of attorneys in the areas for which certification is granted by the Florida Supreme Court. He received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of South Florida, Tampa, in 1976, and a J.D. (Juris Doctor) from Stetson College of Law, St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1979. He is a member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law (RPPTL) Section, and a member of the RPPTL Condominium & Planned Development Committee and he is a founding member and has served as Chairman of the Florida Bar’s Mobile Home Law Committee. He is a member of the Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Pinellas Mid-County Bar Associations. He is a past president of the Pinellas Mid-County Bar Association. He is a member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). He was awarded the 2006 and 2008 Professional Business Partner of the Year awards by the Suncoast Chapter of CAI for his volunteer work with CAI. He is a frequent Law Day speaker for the Clearwater Bar and for the Great American Teach-In in the Pinellas and Hillsborough County school system. He has been a frequent speaker and panelist for the Suncoast Chapter of CAI.
